Do you have a few specific blogs you like to check often for modern quilting inspiration? I know I have several but I prefer to get the blog feed directly tomy e-mail inbox (because I’d never remember to actually check them all).
When I check my e-mail today I received a post from Amy Lou Who about this mini quilt she received from Jill (Made on Mainstreet) that was just so adorable and MODERN! Well, I hopped over to Jill’s blog and realized I had just discovered ANOTHER awesome modern quilter! Yippee! Now I have more reason to procrastinate from my real work! (haha)
QUICK DIGRESS:
Left to right, Amy (Amy’s Creative Side) Cara (Cara Quilts) and Me
I also met a couple of modern quilt bloggers in real life (IRL) at the Modern Quilt Guild meet up during quilt market. Ironically, I hadn’t actually stalked either of their blogs before meeting her but when I met her I definitely recognized the name of their blogs and begged them to let me get a picture (yeah, I’m a dork like that). So there it is, in all it’s weird angle glory. Cara had traveled to Houston all they way from Canada and Amy came from Utah! Wow! Oh yeah, and Amy is an author and Cara is the hostess of quilt talk Tuesdays on Twitter!
OK, ready for more modern inspiration? Another post I received today was a sneak peek at Issue 7 of Fat Quarterly, an e-mag that I’ve been an avid sponsor of since they began a year or two ago. Check out this quilt pattern available in Issue 7 called the Curio Quilt!
Talk about an awesome MODERN scrap buster!
I also have more MODERN quilt inspiration on my Pinterest boards. I hope you’ll go check them out (but be cautioned, Pinterest is the MOST fun time waster you’ll ever encounter!) What? You aren’t on Pinterest? If you’d like an invitation to join, please just e-mail me with a request. I’ll send you an invite right away!
So tell me, what are YOUR favorite quilty blogs to visit while you drink your morning latte (or avoid doing work) or on your lunch break?
Happy Stitches,
Anna
